RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS
AIR FORCE BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF MILITARY RECORDS
IN THE MATTER OF: DOCKET NUMBER: BC-2012-04510
COUNSEL: NONE
HEARING DESIRED: NO
______________________________________________________________
APPLICANT REQUESTS THAT:
His Reentry (RE) code of 2C, which denotes "Involuntarily
separated with an honorable discharge; or entry level separation
without characterization of service," be changed to allow his
reentry into the military.
________________________________________________________________
__
APPLICANT CONTENDS THAT:
Family problems coupled with his being malnourished and
dehydrated sent him over the edge. He now feels he is
100 percent better and is ready to rejoin the military.
In support of his request, the applicant provides copies of his
DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active
Duty, and AF IMT 100, Request and Authorization for Separation.
His complete submission, with attachments is at Exhibit A.
________________________________________________________________
__
STATEMENT OF FACTS:
On 24 April 2012, the applicant enlisted in the Regular Air
Force.
On 18 July 2012, his commander notified him that he was
recommending he be discharged under the provisions of AFI 36-
3208, Administrative Separation of Airmen. The specific reason
for this action is reflected in the Notification Memorandum at
Exhibit B.
On 18 July 2012, he acknowledged receipt of the discharge
notification.
On 19 July 2012, the Staff Judge Advocate found the discharge
legally sufficient.
On 25 July 2012, the applicant was discharged from the Air
Force, with uncharacterized service. His narrative reason for
separation is Adjustment Disorder. He served three months and
two days of total active service.

__
AIR FORCE EVALUATION:
AFPC/DPSOA recommends denial. DPSOA states that in accordance
with AFI 36-2606, Reenlistment in the USAF, RE code 2C is driven
by the applicants entry level separation with an
uncharacterized character of service. Moreover, RE code 2C
applies to all entry level separations without characterization
of service regardless of whether the discharge is voluntary or
involuntary.
The complete DPSOA evaluation, with attachment, is at Exhibit C.

__
APPLICANT'S REVIEW OF THE AIR FORCE EVALUATION:
On 9 November 2012, a copy of the Air Force evaluation was
forwarded to the applicant for review and comment within
30 days. As of this date, no response has been received by this
office (Exhibit D).
________________________________________________________________
__
THE BOARD CONCLUDES THAT:
1. The applicant has exhausted all remedies provided by
existing law or regulations.
2. The application was timely filed.
3. Insufficient relevant evidence has been presented to
demonstrate the existence of error or injustice. We took notice
of the applicant's complete submission in judging the merits of
the case; however, we agree with the opinion and recommendation
of the Air Force office of primary responsibility and adopt its
rationale as the basis for our conclusion the applicant has not
been the victim of an error or injustice. Therefore, in the
absence of evidence to the contrary, we find no basis to
recommend granting the relief sought in this application.
________________________________________________________________
__
THE BOARD DETERMINES THAT:
The applicant be notified that the evidence presented did not
demonstrate the existence of material error or injustice; that
the application was denied without a personal appearance; and
that the application will only be reconsidered upon the
submission of newly discovered relevant evidence not considered
with this application.
